Occupancy
  • The Old Shop has one upstairs bedroom containing a king-size bed and a single futon suitable for a young child. The bedroom is spacious so there is room for a travel cot (not supplied). The shower room is just inside the door to the bedroom.
  • There is one room downstairs. This is an open plan kitchen/ lounge with a small double sofa bed and two single fold out beds. There is not room for all these to be used at once but to allow some flexibility with sleeping arrangements.
  • The property is best suited for a couple. However, we have had couples with a small baby, two friends, couples with a child/ teenager stay as well as three friends. There is only one shower room in the property which is ensuite but is just inside the door of the bedroom. We do not recommend our property for toddlers due to the stairs and the open plan nature of the downstairs.
  • Pets are not allowed at this property even hypoallergenic pets.
General
  • You may not re-let or sublet the accommodation, even free of charge, or use the accommodation for business purposes or entertainment event purposes
  • No-one may stay in the accommodation other than those in the original booking party without checking with us first and before arrival
  • We reserve the right to immediately terminate the booking at any time without notice and without refund in the event of a breach of these conditions.

Arrival & departure

  • Arrival is from 3pm onwards. The keysafe location and the combination will be given to you before your arrival.
  • Car parking for one car is available on our shared drive otherwise there is free on street parking. All parking is strictly at your own risk and the owners accept no liability for any damage caused to vehicles or loss of any contents.
  • There is an information folder in The Old Shop containing instructions on appliance use and suggestions for the local area.
  •  Departure is by 10:00 am unless otherwise agreed. Please lock the door and leave the key inside the keysafe.

Your obligations

Please leave The Old Shop in a similar state to which you found it.

  • We reserve the right to make an additional charge to cover cleaning costs if you leave the property in an unacceptable condition
  • Before leaving the property, please put used towels in the shower tray. You do not have to strip the king-size bedding but if you used additional bedding e.g. for the sofa bed etc please do not put it away- leave it out so it is obvious it has been used
  • Accidents happen but please let us know if anything has been broken; we expect normal wear and tear and will not usually charge for replacement. Guests will be charged for any items that are removed or lost from the accommodation.
  • No smoking or vaping inside but you can outside. Please be careful as we are surrounded by fields.
  • We provide recycling bins for all recyclable waste, please use these as much as possible.
  • We have lovely neighbours so if arriving back late at night or using the garden please keep the noise down.
  • Please ask if you need to use the EV charger. Ideally, we prefer that you use this overnight. We will provide you with the access code and will calculate your usage and charge accordingly (30p per kWh).  This will need to be paid before you leave.
Bioethanol Fire, firepit and barbeque
  • We provide a bottle of bioethanol fuel during the colder months
  • We do not provide wood or charcoal for the firepit or the barbeque.
Access & shared areas
  • We will only enter the Old Shop during your stay if emergency occurs (e.g. smoke alarm activates whilst you are out). If essential maintenance is required during your stay and access is needed this will be discussed with you in advance.
  • The drive is shared, we ask you park in the allocated space as we need access at all times.  The garden is shared. You are welcome to use the main garden, and we will respect your privacy.
